Wike May Become Nigeria President or VP, Prophet Ekong Ituen Says

A Nigerian cleric, Prophet Ekong Ituen, has made a political prediction involving Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, claiming that the former Rivers State governor could eventually occupy Nigeria’s highest political office.

Ituen said his prediction was based on what he described as a spiritual revelation rather than conventional political analysis. In a Facebook post published on September 28, the preacher described Wike as an influential politician and suggested that his political journey could eventually lead to either the presidency or vice presidency.

The claim comes at a time when Wike remains an important figure in Nigeria’s political landscape and has publicly aligned himself with President Bola Tinubu’s bid for another term in office in the 2027 general elections.

Prophet’s Prediction About Wike

According to Ituen, his assessment of Wike’s political future came through what he called “spiritual observation.”

The cleric said he had seen the FCT minister eventually heading towards the presidency or vice presidency during his lifetime. He also urged politicians who may have disagreements with Wike to resolve their differences peacefully.

The statement was presented by the preacher as a spiritual revelation and not as a political forecast based on electoral data, party structures or constitutional succession.

Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, currently serves as minister of the Federal Capital Territory and remains a prominent figure in national politics.

Wike’s Current Political Position

The prediction comes as Wike is actively involved in efforts supporting Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign.

On September 25, Wike said he was prepared to lead campaign activities for Tinubu in both Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory. His stated position is therefore focused on helping the incumbent president secure another term rather than publicly declaring a personal presidential ambition at this stage.

This makes Ituen’s prediction notably different from Wike’s publicly stated political priority.

The former Rivers governor has also maintained a complicated political identity. Although he is serving in Tinubu’s administration, Wike remains associated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the party under which he previously governed Rivers State.

Wike, Ribadu and Akpabio in the Political Conversation

Wike is not the only prominent figure associated with Tinubu who has been discussed in connection with Nigeria’s future political leadership.

National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio are also among senior political figures who have featured prominently in discussions surrounding the administration and the 2027 political environment.

However, Ituen’s latest prediction specifically focused on Wike, rather than offering a political ranking or evidence-based assessment of the prospects of these figures.

The prophecy should therefore be understood as the personal religious claim of the cleric and not as confirmation that Wike is preparing to contest for president or vice president.

Wike’s Role in Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign

Wike’s growing involvement in Tinubu’s campaign preparations has attracted considerable attention ahead of the 2027 elections.

Earlier reports indicated that Tinubu was considering a defined campaign responsibility for Wike, particularly in Rivers State and the FCT. The proposed arrangement was linked to Wike’s political network and influence in the two areas.

The former Rivers governor has continued to defend his decision to work with the Tinubu administration despite remaining formally associated with the PDP.

His support for Tinubu has also placed him at the centre of wider political debates over party loyalty, alliances and the evolving configuration of Nigerian politics ahead of 2027.

Prophet Issues Additional Message to Wike

Alongside his political prediction, Ituen also addressed Wike personally and encouraged him to pay attention to his wellbeing.

The preacher did not provide details supporting the warning, and no independent evidence was presented alongside the statement. It therefore remains a personal comment from the cleric rather than a verified assessment.

Ituen has previously made public comments and predictions involving Nigerian political figures.

What the Prediction Means

The latest statement has generated attention largely because of Wike’s prominent position within the current administration and his extensive political experience.

Still, the cleric’s prediction does not establish that Wike will become president or vice president. Nigeria’s political leadership is determined through constitutional processes, elections and, where applicable, political appointments and succession procedures.

For now, Wike’s publicly stated political role remains centred on supporting Tinubu’s 2027 campaign, while the possibility mentioned by Ituen remains a spiritual prediction attributed to the preacher.

As Nigeria moves closer to the 2027 general elections, Wike’s political activities and relationships with the ruling administration are likely to remain subjects of public interest.
