President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Paris, France, as he continues his three-week annual leave in Europe.
The Nigerian leader arrived in the French capital on Sunday as part of the next stage of his vacation. He was welcomed by Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke, according to a video posted on the President’s official X account.

Tinubu began his annual holiday on Sunday, August 30, 2026, when he left Abuja for London, United Kingdom. He is now in Paris as the vacation enters another phase.
The President’s decision to proceed with his European holiday had earlier been announced by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. In a statement released on August 30, Onanuga disclosed that Tinubu would spend three weeks on leave before returning to Nigeria.
The statement, which was titled “President Tinubu Begins Three-Week Leave,” noted that the President was scheduled to return to Abuja at the end of his vacation. Upon his return, Tinubu is expected to take part in preparations and campaign activities ahead of the January 2027 general election.
The latest development places the President in France after his initial stay in the United Kingdom. His movement to Paris forms part of the holiday period announced by the Presidency, with no indication in the statement that the leave had been extended beyond the originally planned three weeks.
Tinubu’s vacation comes at a politically significant period, particularly with preparations for the 2027 elections already beginning within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The President commenced his holiday roughly one week after the APC unveiled members of its Presidential Campaign Council. Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima were named to lead the campaign structure, with the President serving as chairman and Shettima as vice chairman.
The announcement of the campaign council marked another step in the ruling party’s preparations for the next general election. Tinubu’s planned return to Abuja is therefore expected to coincide with increased political activities as the party begins to intensify its preparations.
His arrival in Paris also continues the President’s scheduled European itinerary during his annual leave. While the vacation is primarily a break from his official duties, the timing has attracted attention because of the political activities surrounding the 2027 election.
The Presidency had earlier stated that Tinubu would return to the Nigerian capital after completing the holiday. His arrival in Paris signals that the President remains on the previously announced leave schedule.
The development was made public through the President’s official social media platform, where footage of his arrival in Paris showed him being received by the Nigerian ambassador to France.
Tinubu’s three-week annual leave began in London after his departure from Abuja on August 30. With his subsequent arrival in Paris, the President is now continuing the European leg of his vacation before his expected return to Nigeria.
Upon resuming his official duties in Abuja, Tinubu is expected to rejoin the political process and participate in activities connected to the APC’s preparations for the 2027 general election.
